ABOUT SAKI4THESOUL

Mental Health Activist by day. Camper by night. Backpacker by nature.

It was in 2018 when I first discovered the art of backpacking, where I was able to get my 1st intimate interview with Mother Nature. Discovering the resources that she provided us hikers and sleeping on the expansive terrain that she heralded gave me a newfound sense of gratitude towards the life I've come to accept now.

As a diagnosed patient of Bipolar Type II Disorder, I've been through a fair share of internal struggles that gave me a better awareness of mental health and its fragility, especially in our society. Mother Nature gave me an opportunity to disconnect from the overwhelming stimuli of the urban world and reconnect with my spirituality.

There was something surreal about having limited access to resources that I took for granted, from filtering my own water to going to the restroom without a plumbing system. Being devoid of such creature comforts drove me to appreciate life on it's own terms, and to have serenity over the things we cannot control. As a result, I developed this blog for a chance to give aspiring travelers and hikers like myself some insight on some of the places that gave me this newfound appreciation of life. I only strive to continue exploring (while leaving no trace!) the lesser traveled parts of the ever-expansive, yet fragile wilderness.

Such explorations, I hope, will raise awareness in others about the significance of their self-love and mental health. And I only hope to connect with such people in the near future, whether it's through this blog or an overnighter! I just want to thank you all in advance for stopping by, and I hope to appreciate the Earth with you all real soon.
